PVDR will be awarded a $100.00 pet CBD gift basket and $100.00 check that will be used to assist in the rescue of burros along the Mexican Border.

PVDR, located in San Angelo Texas, rescues neglected and abandoned donkeys, burros and mules from around the world and provides them a safe forever home. Mark and Amy Meyers started the Peaceful Valley Donkey Rescue after purchasing their first donkey Izzy as a
pet. They began to notice other donkeys in their community that were in various stages of neglect and wanted to help. Not knowing exactly what to do, Amy began buying up these donkeys and bringing them to their farm.

This simple gesture of love has turned into the largest rescue of its kind. PVDR manages over 3,000 donkeys and 100’s of burros under their direct care. In 2019, Mark was awarded CNN’s Heros Top 10 and has authored and donated books to schools, educating students about the importance of donkeys, burros, mules and the environment. PVDR doors are always open for tours (it is a bucket list experience) and adoptions.
